Charles is recognised for his ability to provide commercial accounting and financial advice in relation to complex investment, business and legal issues. He developed a reputation at QIC where he managed the accounting function for the Global Infrastructure and Private Equity Portfolios (net assets ~$14b) for being ‘truly value-adding’.
Prior to being an accountant, Charles was a professional ballet dancer with one of the most elite ballet companies in the world. Following an injury, he returned to the family business (third generation with a mid-tier accounting firm) becoming a Chartered Accountant. Charles worked with SMEs and family investment portfolios and his experience spans corporate tax, audit and advisory/ M&A.
Charles is currently a member of the Finance and Risk Committee of the Archdiocesan Development Fund, a financier for Catholic institutions (net assets ~$2b). He has also spent time as the CFO of Queensland Ballet working with Li Cunxin (Mao’s Last Dancer) assisting with their growth consolidation (333% increase in revenue over 5 years).
